McGuire Center for Lepidoptera Research
The new McGuire Center for Lepidoptera Research at the University of Florida will open to the public by the end of Summer 2004. The center will feature a tropical jungle that will include live butterflies, storage space for millions of specimens, and research space and equipment for up to 40 graduate students. The center plans to house 8.4 million specimens within the next five years, making it the second largest collection in the world.

National Wildlife Federation
Habitat stewards and ambassadors working with NWF's Backyard Wildlife Habitat and Schoolyard programs encourage the development of habitat suitable for wildlife, including butterflies. Habitat stewards also provide and recruit volunteers to work with zoos, aquariums, and other organizations on habitat restoration efforts on behalf of butterflies

North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC)
Mission
To encourage the health of resident and migratory pollinating animals in North America.NAPPC is comprised of voluntary partners
representing government agencies, non-government organizations, environmental
groups, garden groups, landowners, scientists, farmers, businesses, and private
individuals, each concerned with some aspect of pollinators and/or pollination
ecology.
NAPPC spearheaded a proposal to the National Academy of Sciences National
Research Council for a study of the "Status of North American
Pollinators" and has headed a letter-writing campaign to the US Postal
Service promoting a pollinator stamp series meant to raise pollinator awareness
among the general public.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
The US Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for the development of recovery plans for all federally listed threatened and endangered species. The Service has develops partnerships with universities, zoos, aquariums, and other organizations to implement these plans and to further conservation.

Xerces Society
The Xerces Society is an international non-profit organization that protects the diversity of life through the conservation of invertebrates. The Society advocates for invertebrates and their habitats by working with scientists, land managers, educators, and citizens on conservation and education projects. Its core programs focus on endangered species, native pollinators, and watershed health.
